More about this scene
The solicitor, Edmund Harris was one of Preston's greatest benefactors, who on his death left a bequest of over £400,000 to the town. One of the buildings to carry his name is the Institute, built in the classical-revival style. Sweeping balustrades line steps up to a grand entrance portico, its pediment carried above pilasters and fluted Corinthian columns.
