A Beautiful Childhood

A Memory of Quarry Bank.

My name was Ann Beese and I was born at 60. Bath Road, Quarry Bank.
We moved to Montgomery crescent when I was young and then to 32, Bobs Coppice Walk.
Myself and my two sisters ( Christine and Rosemary ) spent many happy days playing with our friends down the wood opposite our house.
We spent hours playing in the park.
There was a paddling pool in the park and a see saw, giant slide.
There used to be a big fair on the park for the carnival day.
My sister Gladys was Quarry Bank gala queen and I went in the fancy dress compitition .
I love living in Quarry Bank but it has changed so much, there were lots of shops on the high street.
Shoe shops, clothe shops and we had a cinema, which was owned by Mr Roberts.
Plenty of pubs.
But when I walked with my gran everyone new each other by name.
I love Quarry Bank.

Hi Ann, I used to live in Quarry Bank and remember you from school and Wavell Road. I loved living in Quarry Bank it was so friendly when we were young but sadly has grown too big like so many other villages and lost that closeness by the time I lost my parents. I moved away in 2006 but still miss it. Jean
