Reading, Broad Street 1913

More about this scene
By 1913 the electric tram is operating, and the motor car has arrived to mingle with the horse carriages. The right- hand buildings lasted until the late 1960s when they were replaced by Marks and Spencer. Beyond the bank with its pyramid-roofed tower are the elegant terra cotta and brick buildings flanking the entrance to Queen Victoria Street.
