More about this scene
Revesby is an estate village, and the Estate Office on is the nearby A153 main road. The village was laid out in the 1850s around a huge green. It was all done in memory of Sir Joseph Banks, who lived in Revesby Abbey, named after the 12th-century abbey, a Cistercian foundation. The school (right), now converted into two houses, was built in 1858. The house with the shop front facing the camera is now named the Old Post Office.
