More about this scene

This charming woodland parish without a village covers parts of the banks of the River Severn. The great house belonged originally to the de Ribbesfords. In the 17th century, Charles I gave it to the three Herbert brothers, one of whom was George Herbert the poet.

A Selection of Memories from Ribbesford

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Ribbesford

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

Many of my 'Huxley' ancestors were 'hatched, matched and dispatched' here. A most beautiful church in a very special place. Well worth a visit.
