More about this scene
We have entered from opposite the vicarage gates. The spire of St Alban`s Church, demolished in 1973, is just visible to the right of the Ashworth statue (left). The park`s first bowling green was opened on 1 July 1908 and the second in 1927. A £2 million redevelopment plan for the park, mainly funded by heritage lottery money, was announced in July 2003, and a warden is being appointed.
