Old Church,Rush Green And St George's Hospitals

A Memory of Romford.

I have many great memories of the area as I did my nurse training between the above named hospitals.Made so many friends and enjoyed my time in Romford. The many pubs,Romford market and the smell of the alcohol being brewed wafted around for all to smell. Great memories of the hospital social club which unfortunately was next door to the mortuary. I feel the best memory I have is walking through the doors of the impressive nurses home for the first time.It was huge and very easy to get lost in.Loved the tennis courts that were to the back of the home .Greats memories of summers and hot days playing tennis.Once they decided to close down Rush Green that felt as if the heart of the area was removed and then most of us staff who were from many corners of the UK 🇬🇧 and abroad slowly but surely moved away too,What a sad ending to a great story.I still miss the old lady ,RGH but life moves on
