Hi

I was in the children's home, Palmerston House in the mid 1950s. It was a temporary home until a permanent placement was found for me and my two brothers.

I don't remember much, except there was an Uncle Tony. The couple who ran the place had a little girl called Midge who had a hole in the heart and later died.

There was a tuck shop next door where we spent our weekly pocket money.

I was only 6 so I don't remember that much.
I was also in the Children`s home Palmerston house in 1972, I remember being there at easter of that year I left in the June / July time in 72. Liverpool were playing on the tv at the time and " I cant live, (if living is without you ) topped the charts and we went to Mountbatten school. We used to listen to ghost stories in the evening funny the little things you remember lol but, I was happy there till I had to go home .. really didnt want to go .. My name was Barbara Bundy back then doubt if anyone would remember me ..
That little shop used to sell vinegar by the quart and I would drink some of it on the way home. Palmerston house used to have great bonfire nights.i always used to go.
i was at palmerston house 1982-1983 , used to share a room with barry (cant remember last name)
remember the class system a.b and c, if you made A you could stay up late, going to school there in morning school uniform in the afternoon everyday clothes. Remembering kicking a rock instead of the football and almost breaking my foot, the ginger haired teacher used to call me darallelah,
Having your favourite pudding on your birthday, Had some good times but left when my father got remarried.
Don't know if any one remembers anyone on here, I do remember a a couple of girls there but there names have muffed me ,
