More about this scene
We are south-west of the village centre, and the photograph exudes a strange feeling of well- cared-for neglect. The roadway, and the grass with its two forlorn seats and their single weakly tree, contrast with the well kept appearance of the surrounding houses. There are a number of timber-framed buildings in the immediate area; the box-framed 17th- century one (centre) is a good example.
