A Very Dear Friend Who Lived In Sabden

A Memory of Sabden.

A dear friend, Miss Reumah Cockshutt, lived with her father, mother, brother and two sisters at 10 Whins Avenue, Sabden. It was a tragic life as her brother Stephen was killed by a kick from a horse whilst serving in the army. Shortly after her little sister fell ill and died and then Reumah's beloved father passed away. Understandably, she used to get deep bouts of depression and decided to move away to live in Blackpool. She became very close to my parents when she finally moved to Penzance, they nursed her in her bad times, but when she was well she was the most lovely person you could ever wish to meet. When she died, the contents of her home were left to my husband and myself. After almost 30 years I still have some of her beautiful writings and also photographs. I would be happy to send these to anyone who remembered or was related to the family.
My email address is gostins@aol.com and my name is Gillian Ostins.
