Saffron Walden, High Street And Church c.1965

More about this scene
The High Street, running south to north, was wide enough for two carriages to pass in times gone by. The houses on the right, with Gold Street leading off, are all timber-framed with brick and plaster overlay; those on the left are mostly 19th-century. All are watched over benignly by St Mary's, the great parish church.
