Dow St, Salford 7
A Memory of Salford.
I lived many years in Dow St., Salford. My earliest memories are that of playing in the street with my friends, games which are long forgotten now, like hopscotch, 2 ball or maybe 3 if you were able enough, roller skating, whip and top, and making all lovely patterns on the top with the chalk. Many happy times playing until mother would shout you in for bedtime.
The corner shop was forever handy for that bag of sugar, or as on many occasion, use my spends to buy my favourite sweets. I think the owner was called Mrs Conners.
I attended Broughton Modern Secondary school, from 1959-1963. I still remember the children in my class, in fact I still am in contact with one of them today. Yes! Many happy memories in that street.
