The Start Of A Wonderful Marriage

A Memory of Saltash.

My wife and I married here on the 17th Feb 1977 and we've not regretted a day since. It poured with rain going in but the sun shone coming out. That has just about summed things up for us. The Rev Wood and Rev Carr were both at the service.
It was the start of 18 years in Cornwall making friends and picking up with old friends a period of our lives we will never forget.
Since then both this building and the place we held the reception [the riverside club on Old Ferry Rd] have been demolished but certainly not forgotten by us.
Now happily resident back in Capetown we would like to say thank you to all our friends, neighbours and acquaintances in Saltash. Truly a place where the Cornish gave "incomers" a real welcome.
