Scarborough, The Beach c.1960

More about this scene
With barely enough room to build a sand castle, the children seem somewhat constrained. The degree of cloth- ing being worn would indicate that the chill easterly breeze that often affects this coast is blowing. Note the name 'Corrigan' on the building in the centre: this family have operated side-shows and amusements in this area for decades, and are active to this day.
