Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Holystreet Manor In 1939
The school where my mother taught was evacuated to Holystreet Manor from Surrey in 1939, and I recently found her and her colleagues staying there in the 1939 census. Fascinating to find the school listed and know it was also a school in the 1950's. Apparently the dormitory where the teachers slept was haunted...

St. Bride School
I remember it as a school; the headmistress was Aunty Vera (I do not remember her surname). The classrooms were in the stables and I remember as students we believed there was a tunnel to a church on the moors. I remember going for walks on the moors, sitting on the raised lawn in the back doing handiwork, swimming in the little creek, cleaning Chapel silver and some of the students and the many pranks we played...but also were caught doing! What a wonderful time of life and so many memories.

Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
