A Selection of Memories from Shalford

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Shalford

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

This is not a memory but I wanted to say how lovely it is to find this picture on your page. I am doing my family tree and my Grandad Frank Dyer and many more of my ancestors came from Shalford/Jaspers Green. I hope to visit soon and look forward to it

This is not a memory as such, however I have been researching my husband's family tree. When speaking to elderly family members I have found that his grandmother's family, the Thorogoods, come from Shalford. I would like to know if there are any Thorogoods still in Shalford. We can't wait to find out more about your village and discover my husband's roots.
My parents had a weekend cottage at Rotten End in the 1950s, and I remember walking a footpath to Shalford regularly. Can anybody tell me if this footpath still exists, or anything about it at all? many thanks Ros Stayne
