More about this scene
Further up Church Road, we are looking at the backs of 18th-century houses on Church End, the lane which leads to the medieval parish church of St Laud, out of shot to the left. The church has a tall central tower, partly 13th-century, with the upper stages 15th-century. On the left are 1950s bungalows and a chalet bungalow: unfortunately, the village has much infill of this sort of 'anywheresville' stuff. More modern infill is much better, and mostly in the more appropriate stone.
