More about this scene
Now demolished, the Raven Hotel had many famous visitors in its time. George Farquhar stayed here while writing his play 'The Recruiting Officer'. Jenny Lind, the Swedish Nightingale, stayed here. So too did William Palmer, the Rugeley Poisoner, who began to poison his last victim, John Cook, while they both stayed here.
