Dogs are at play in this photograph of a peaceful West Sussex village. Sidlesham sits at the edge of Pagham Harbour, the haunt of redshanks, curlews, grey plovers, ringed plovers and godwits - among other birds. At one time there was a bustling quay here, with ships loading for France. The salty tang of the sea on the wind reminds you that the English Channel is only a stone's throw away.

Sidlesham, The Quay C1960
My Wife & I have been Annual Members of Fontwell Park Racecourse for many years, travelling from our Dover home to most meetings. Often arriving early we would pop down to the seaside Towns/Villages of Bognor, Littlehampton, Witterings etc & came across Pagham Nature reserve some 8 years ago. 17th Century Murder Replayed At Church Norton.
The more I think back on this incident, the more bizzare and terryfying it seems. In 2001, around Oct/Nov, myself and a friend drove to the car park at Church Norton church at about 11:00pm. Atkins Charity Football Match At Sidlesham Fc
Driving through Sidlesham , I noticed the village football club had floodlights. My son Steven was looking for a ground for a Charity Football Match, as we were staying at our chalet at Church Farm Holiday Village. Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
