Shaftesbury Avenue

A Memory of South Harrow.

I was born in 1946 and lived all my young days in Shaftesbury Avenue going to Grange Primary and then Lascelles secondary. Some years later I worked as a disc jockey in the Birds Nest attached to the Shaftesbury pub and then went on to be co-manager. Would love to hear from anyone else who went to Lascelles around that time or who remembers the Birds Nest

Hi, I am trying to piece together some memories I have of a music venue called Circles. I lived in Harrow from 1962 to 1980 and I have a vague memory of visiting Circlers in Harrow in the 70's. Does anyone else have any memories of this place ? It may be that I'ver got the wrong name. Perhaps Circles was - or became - the Birds Nest. Please let me know if you can cast some light on to this for me.

I have now found out through another forum that the "Birds Nest" became "Circles "and then Bobby Magees ! However, I still do not know when these changes took place.

The Birds Nest changed its name to Circles while I was working there. The venue was next to the Shaftesbury pub which has since become a McDonalds. It was on Shaftesbury Circle close to what was originally Lascelles school and is not Whitmore High
