A Selection of Memories from South Norwood

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from South Norwood

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

My mother and father lived in Holmesdale Road when they were first married in 1957. My mum used to go to the nearby Catholic church - is it St Chads?
My Mum lived in South Norwood in the 1960’s with a family called Irwin/Unwin Who rented out rooms. Sorry I haven’t any other information, just a long shot but does anyone remember the family!! Thanks
I was born in East Dulwich but my parents moved to Waverley Road, South Norwood when I was 3 months old. I moved out to Rayleigh Essex with my wife, who also lived in Waverley Road after our marriage in 1955. I was, and still am an ardent Crystal Palace fan.
My family lived in Holmesdale Road all our lives. Grew up to support CPFC. My friend lived at the top of the road we lived in the middle. My friend and her family moved to West Sussex but we kept in touch. We really have been friends all our lives. I too ended up moving to the same village as my friend years later, we are still here and still friends.
