It got changed to culverhouse I was there in 1977 i remember the science labs and miss levy a horrid science teacher mr woodwood was headmaster then. I remember the outside swimming pool that was freezing and an old shed to change in with a cold wet concrete floor. It changed name again The Ockendon school. Bet time ever.
My name is Brian Cullen. I went to Lennards from 1962 to 1967. I remember Mr Wilkins. Was sent to him twice I believe for the cane, prob talking in class. I was a prefect in the last couple of years. My English teacher was Miss Skinner, Mr Mahoney was maths. He used to throw his chalk at you if you weren't listening. I used to clean out the chicken sheds at the side of the school. I remember Ann Trott, Barry Hatton. Boy called Horsefield, Terry Westphael. David Taylor. We lived in 99 Usk Rd Aveley. I worked weekends as a shelf stacker in Sainsburys in Derwent Parade. Martin Peters of the 1966 world Cup team went to the school, before my time but Mr Wilkins reminded everyone regularly. We moved from the area just after I left school. I spend my time between UK and France now, retired but look back on those days with fond memories.
