The Mardyke And Bluebell Wood

A Memory of South Ockendon.

I remember walking by Ford Place down the winding road to the Mardyke to go fishing for tiddlers with my brother - when we crossed the river in the spring we could go to the woods on the other side and pick bluebells. It is a lovely memory of my childhood days. I can also remember a fairground - maybe at Easter time on Daiglen Drive (or maybe Foyle Drive), and when I was a little bit older, we would go to a church to jive to records! Can't remember the name of the church?
I went to St. Lennards Secondary School and left in 1958...happy days!
