My Dad's Mum, Frances Ann Coulson Lived In Fowler Street In 1901 Aged 5 Years Old.
My dad's mum lived in Fowler Street in 1901 aged 5 years old, her name was Frances Ann Coulson. She was married to a David Taylor in June 1914. Their son was my father, called Charles Henry Taylor. William Wilson
Does anybody remember me? I spent 2 years up there from about 1959 and went to Dean Road School. My relations up there are Barbers and Wilsons. Cousins my age were Norman Barber and Neil Wilson. Connecting With The Past
My father, born in 1906, was educated in an orphanage in South Shields from about 1916 to 1922. The orphanage was operated by the Sisters of Charity. I would like to visit the South Shields area this summer from the USA. Does anyone have information on the location of the orphanage or other pertinent information that I would find helpful?

George Norman Brown Footballer For Jarrow St Bedes 1948 49

Hello, My dad used to play football for Jarrow St Bede's and later, South Shields Mariners. I want to research this as he has no momentoes from this era. I know that he was known as 'Pinky' Brown, and was often pictured in the South Shields Gazette, sometimes by a local cartoonist. Maybe you know him? If so, please get in touch. Many thanks, Heidi

Hornsby Cycle Shop
I was born and lived in Forest Hall 1952-1968. I had relatives that lived in South-Shields, they owned the cycle shop Hornsbys. I used to go on visits there with my grandparents for tea, I remember we used to go down to the beach, when we were there, weather permitting. I have nice memories of the place. Brenda.

My Holidays At South Shields In The 1940s And 1950s
My lovely memories are of going to South Shields from London to stay with my mum's brother, we stayed in Marsden Street and my cousins lived round the corner. We would leave London about 5 in the morning and get there about 10 at night, no motorsways then. We would stop on the way.
