My mum Jean silver came from south warnborough she lived in ivy cottage with her brother Tom & her sister Janet & her mum violet silver along with her grandfather Thomas silver she lived there from the 1930s upto about 1960 when they moved to reading .
I lived in South Warnborough 1968-74 at 'Thatch End' and latterly The Old Parsonage. Both were on Lees Hill. From here I was collected and went to school in Alton. My sister attended Long Sutton Primary. Her headmaster was my cubmaster, B.O. Wright. Bob-a-Job Week was always a happy time for me, greatly enjoyed.

In 1950,1951 and 1952 I spent two months summer holidays/year at the Lodge. The house belonged then to Mrs Webster. Her daughter Annet had married Mr. (first name forgotten) Nickisson. Together they ran a riding school. I was supposed to learn english but in fact I learned little english but received a very good training in horse back riding.
