Rutland Road
A Memory of Southall.
Hi, came on this site by accident,
I was born at 12 Rutland Rd in 1966 and had wonderful memories of playing in the street ( unheard of now ) and the jubilee park and library, off to the "top shops " on Allenby road, anyone remember the lovely " uncle Bert " who had his front room full of musical instruments, trumpets, drums etc and let us bang away on them again unheard of now - in a simpler life, neighbours were friends who looked out for you, if Mum sent you to the shops, you also asked the neighbours did they want anything. Such happy days.
We moved to Ireland in 1974 as my Dad inherited a farm, such a culture shock and not in a good way at the time ! Roger Wall
