Southall Working Men's Club
A Memory of Southall.
I recently went back for a nostalgic look at the area I came from and wondered if anyone knows if and when Southall Working Men's Club changed address.
I used to go there when I was young as my dad Charlie Hayes was president there for a long time, I think in the 50's and 60's. Fred Ketley was also a name I remember - he could have been treasurer.
When I went back last month I found Clifton Road, where I lived and went to junior school ok but the club wasn't where I remembered it. I knew it was in Featherstone Rd but didn't recognise the building from my childhood.
If anyone can help I would be grateful.
I live in Jersey, Channel Islands now but do like to go back now and again.
Sheila Haynes (was Hayes).

My name is Michael and I knew you and your family quite well back in the 50/60s. I used to live around the corner at No 47, Endsleigh Road and was a mate of your brother Jeff. I remember your Dad ( Charlie ), and you had a sister ( Margaret ?) Jeff and I got into endless scrapes and on one occassion we ran away to Windsor, which to us was a long way from home.I think we also used to "Bunk Off" from school and stay at your house watching TV. I remember we got caught by Mr Larkin the truant officer, and got the cane from Mr Jeffries the Head Master at Western Road School. I now live in Derbyshire and would like to exchange a few memories with you.
