Southport, Pier And Pavilion 1913

More about this scene
The original pavilion was destroyed by fire in 1897; about five years passed before its replacement, seen here complete with minarets, was opened to the public. Appearing in 1913 were the March Hares and the White Tennessee Band - the latter could be one of the minstrel bands that did not wear black-face makeup.
