More about this scene
The Post Office (right) was situated here for a few years after a fire in 1952 at the present Post Office, which was caused by petrol hoarding during the Suez Crisis. The cinema (centre left) closed in the 1960s. To the right, the Coffee House is now a domestic garage, but the house is still called Jack o'Lantern.
