The High Street runs parallel to Market Place and Market Street; it is terminated to the east by Aveland House, a dignified three-storey late Georgian town house. Most of the street is unchanged, apart from one house on the left which was replaced by a 1960s building, now Somerfields supermarket. The late 19th-century shopfronts fortunately survive.

Hi, does anyone know any history or have any photographs of the Chapel on Thorpe Bank, Little Steeping. It was built in 1874 and was converted into a residential property in the 1980's. We purchased it last year and have been searching for information as we'd love to know more about our lovely old chapel but haven't had any luck. I think it was previously known as the Primitive Methodist Chapel, Thorpe Bank, Thorpe St Peter. Hope someone can help. Thanks.
My great great grandma, Indianna, was born in 1842 in Spilsby, her dad was Samuel Watson, does anyone have any information of this family. Indianna had several siblings, her mother was called Mary Turner. They also lived on Ashby Rd at some time, possibly either owning a farm or working on a farm. Indianna left home to work in Cheetham in Manchester as a servant. Does anyone know of the family or is indeed related to any of the siblings also the history of Samuel & Mary . Thanks Alan
