More about this scene

The photographer has turned his camera a little to the south and included an additional couple of interesting cars - a Rover 90 and behind it a rare and expensive Bristol saloon. The range of premises on the right are the offices and entrance to Paine`s brewery. In 1814 the business was bought by John Day, and during 1822 he had the cast iron memorial erected in the market square. Standing on a stone base, the lantern was originally powered by oil, but it was later changed to gas.

Does anyone remember Harold Wyatt and his son young Harold with the scrap yard behind rycroft builders yard.

Huntingdon Street
Me and my family lived here, my parents ran the local taxi service, called Jackson's Taxis, 23 Huntingdon St,nearby was Bartletts the butcher, and Miss Skipper had a real old fashioned sweet shop in East St, I have plenty of happy memories growing up in St Neots. It is really nice to view all the old photos.

I Was A Pupil At çedar House
I was then Sandra Niven so remember very well Hazel Tomlins Fiona Patterson and Tokumba Audifferen. Mrs Hutton was the Head and her son Graham ran the office he had a stand offish wife and a quiet son that was terrifieď of us girls 👧 🙄

My Sister And I Were Boarders At Cedar House School In St Neots In 1968 Before It Merged With Morcott Hall School, Rutland
My sister and I were boarders at Cedar House School,St Neots in 1968 before it merged with Morcott Hall School in Rutland. Fitzy moved with us to Morcott Hall. My father left the Army and we eventually settled in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Amazingly my Mum met Fitzy at her local Church Mothers Union when she was talking about her travels as an Army wife and her daughters attending Boarding School!!!

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
