More about this scene

Stamford Bridge over the River Derwent is still a popular stopping place for visitors, although the Old Corn Mill inn has recently closed, a victim of drink/drive laws. About 25 years ago the New Inn was re-christened the Swordsman Inn, recollecting the savage events of 1066 when King Harold faced his brother, Tostig, and King Hardrada of Norway on 25 September.
