Sudbury, Friar Street Congregational Chapel 1900

More about this scene
Here we see the interior of the chapel as designed by Frederick Barnes in 1859, with the classical sanctuary filled with the organ. In 1878 Barnes designed the platform, high pulpit, choir stalls and organ case. When the church was demolished, very little was saved. The organ was rebuilt at Ipswich School, and the font became a garden ornament in Great Waldingfield. The minister in 1900 was the Rev Thomas Boyne.
