The Thomas Kidder Hawkins Family At Sutton By Dover From 1876 To 1924

A Memory of Sutton.

My great grandmother's cousin who was born Eleanor Wraight married Thomas Kidder Hawkins, and around the year 1876 their first son was born in Sutton by Dover. Then Thomas was employed as a shepherd. By the time of his children's marriages in the 1900s, he was reported to be a clerk and verger. His addresses in the village up to 1924, were Yew Tree Cottage and Glebe Cottage. His widow Eleanor was buried with him in 1936, although by this time she had moved away to Folkestone.

Ethel Lilian Tyler a granddaughter of the same great grandmother, was reported as being born in 1910 at Forge Cottage, Sutton, which is only a few houses away. I don't know whether these relations knew each other, but it was a very small village?
