More about this scene

A grand residence gives way to accommodation somewhat more compact and bijou. The interior of The Spinney was particularly handsome, with dark oak and mahogany fixtures throughout. Although relatively modern, the house incorporated both a 17th-century fireplace and panelling reputedly salvaged from an ancient Bristol church. The terraced gardens were its equal – both tropical and alpine collections shared space with an orchard and beautifully maintained tennis courts.

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

My Mum was discharged from Sully Hospital after a long stay being treated for TB. Mum, Dad, me and my brother stayed here for a period of time to allow my mum to recuperate. I was about 3 yreas old, my brother 5 years. I can remember the local school being taught on the beach. My Mum's name was Gwynifer Thomas.
