More about this scene

Across the Bain, Tattershall is altogether less ravaged by 1960s and later rebuilding. Due to the lack of building stone in this part of the county, brick made an early appearance; several major medieval brick buildings survive. We have already seen the Hussey Tower in Boston, while Lord Cromwell's mighty brick tower keep of the 1430s can be seen for miles across the flat Fens of Holland.

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I was told by my mother that my grandparents moved to Tattershall in 1912 from Buckinghamshire so my grandfather could find work helping to restore the castle he was a carpenter. His name was William Bywater, known as Roger, they lived in the village for many years.
