More about this scene
Also taken from the Town Hall, this photograph shows that the main street was less congested than it is today. Yet Wellington has long been a busy and prosperous place, largely owing to its woollen industry. The mills, which lie just outside the town, are owned by the Fox family and are still renowned for producing high quality flannel and material for nurses' uniforms.
