More about this scene

Sixty years after No 24920 was taken, the proliferation of the motor vehicle occupying the kerbs is noticeable. The Bay Tree Café (left) survives today, and so does T P Hughes & Son (at the furthest visible end of the High Street), established in 1902. On the right, amongst the premises visible are Cash & Co, a shoe shop, Olivers Shoes, Lloyds Bank, and one of Tenby's oldest shops, Medical Hall, established in the 1830s. The post office is clearly identifiable from the telegraph wires on its roof; it relocated to this site in 1858. In 1950 Mr W J Griffiths was postmaster. In 1962 it moved to Warren Street.
