Willowbrook, Rayleigh Road, Thundersley.

A Memory of Thundersley.

In the years leading up to World War 2, I recall visiting my Father's parents who lived in what I remember was a rather splendid house named Willowbrook, on the Rayleigh Road.
I would have been about nine in 1938 and I have many pleasant memories of playing in the Orchard and woodland surrounding the house. I have recently been researching my ancestry connections with my Grandparents Mr and Mrs George Rouse and have not been able to locate where the house once stood.
Grandma and Granddad had inherited the house from Granddad's Brother, a retired Police Inspector of the Met. who after his first Wife died, married Lydia Hart who I believe lived in Oak Cottage nearby.
I have searched old maps without any success and I would be most grateful if any friends could tell me what happened to Willowbrook and what now stands in its place.
