Thurlestone, The Village 1918

More about this scene
Thurlestone takes its name from a holed, or thirled, rock just out at sea in Bigbury Bay, which was mentioned in a Saxon charter way back in 845. Despite some garish modern buildings and the large golf course nearby, Thurlestone remains the attractive village we see here in 1918.
