Much of the land hereabouts is owned by the Titsey Foundation. This is Botley Hill Farmhouse, which has been a restaurant
for a number of years. Today it is a popular pub and eatery. On 13 July 1940, Sidney Ireland of 610 Squadron became the
first pilot to be killed in Surrey during the Battle of Britain. He lost control of his Spitfire and crashed in Titsey Park.
