Rc Church In Elgar Avenue

A Memory of Tolworth.

I lived in Elgar Avenue, Tolworth from abt 1940 until 1944. We left when I was about 6 having rented a house here as our house in London had been bombed. I have such happy memories. I went to a school in Grand Avenue and the number of children in class was so small compared to the bigger classes I had to go back to.
Can anyone help me with a memory I have [maybe incorrectly] of a RC church in Elgar Avenue. My Aunt met and married a Canadian and they were married at what I thought was a RC church but I can't find any trace of this church now. It was near the site where the United Reformed Church stands.

The Roman Catholic Church is on the Ewell Road, at the junction with The Broadway. The URC church in Elgar Avenue, formerly Congregational Church was built in the mid to late 1930s around the time that Emmanuel Church was built at the top of Grand Avenue. We lived on Tolworth Rise from 1950-57 and then in Warren Drive North.
Thank you, Philip. This information is most helpful to me as I am trying to compile some family history as my memory now is not serving me too well. If I remember correctly, I went to a primary school in Grand Avenue and I still remember the teacher's name, Miss Pratt.
Your help is much appreciated.
