My Life Living In Ida Road Flats

A Memory of Tottenham.

i was born in Wolverhampton in 1945 mum and dad were Londoners and in 1948 we moved in with my nan rose pearce and granddad Arthur everyone called him pop I had an elder sister rose and brother albie my dads name was albert and mums was rose we lived in Tewksbury road I remember the woodberry pub because pop was always in it in 1950 mum dad and me moved to the new flats in ida road where I grew up same year went to south grove infants then in 1952 to woodlands park juniors in 1956 back to south grove senior boys made a lot of friends in ida road as there were a lot of kids my age I remember the shops in avenue road lawrences the grocer the bakers two news agents a coblers a hairdressers a fruit and veg shop and an oil shop on the otherside of the road rons the barbers and another fruit and veg shop left school in 1960 moved to harlow Essex in 1966 my second name is powers if any one remembers me or any of my family I would love to hear from you

198 Tewksebury until c 1957 moved to Tottenham Hale I went to South Grove and Woodlands then on to Markfield.
Originally 6 saunders were in 198
Now live in Stanstead Abbotts Ware

Hi Barry I was born in Tewksbury no 51 in 1942 I can't recall your name but have many happy memories I remember Mrs Trew who had the greengrocers and the Coles the Bunces many more my name was Rita Hoye
iRITA MY NAME IS JOHN SULLIVAN II HAVE SISTER NAMED IRENE WHO LIVES IN BRISTOL AND A BROTHER NAMED RON RON SAID HE KNOWS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AS SO DO I WE LIVED AT NUMBER 80 TEWKESBURY ROAD MY DAD WAS A WINDOW CLEANER MY MUMS NAME WAS ADA I GOT HIT BY A BIKE IN 1949 WHEN I WAS 3 YEARS OLD JUST OUTSIDE GRACES SHOP IV HADE A LIMP EVER SINCE MY BEST MANE AT MY WEDDING WAS RAY HOOK HE LIVED AT NUMBER 94 THAT WAS IN 1967 HAVENT SEEN HIM SINCE CANT FIND
