Brougham Street

My nan lived in Brougham Street and her mother lived next door. I remember playing alleys in the gutter, split the kipper, taking a jam jar in exchange for a ride on the roundabout, the Sally army marching along the streets, the corner shop selling Uncle Joe's mint balls, taking an old medicine bottle of water and a pickled onion butty to the park, playing on the bomb sites and Dr Pugh.

Butterworths Grocery On Old Chester Rd Tranmere

I remember being aged 3yrs and my mum would walk me down to butterworths grocery shop and let me walking on my own with a huge straw shopping bag and shopping list..the lady in there, Mrs butterworths I assume would play along and fill my bag with shopping...we lived close by in lever terrace which is still there. Does anybody remember butterworths? I was so young but I remember it so clearly.
