More about this scene
The Bell on the right is a timber-framed coaching inn behind its late 18th-century painted brick facade. The dark archway on the left led into the Tring Brewery. In the distance is a group of 1890s brick buildings in the Dutch style fashionable at the time. Since the by-pass opened, the town has less traffic and the High Street has been paved with herring-bone paviours.
