Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

The carefully-pollarded lime trees along both sides of this north to south street help to shade the frontages of the varied shops and other retail establishments which flourish here. On the extreme left, the Cadena Coffee House evokes memories of one of the major pleasures of the 18th-century beau monde who flocked to this inland resort: coffee-drinking was possibly a welcome change from imbibing the chalybeate waters.

Man Of Kent?
I was born in June 1944. My mother started labour in Farmcombe Rd (the Sussex end of TW) but delivered in the Kent & Sussex (the Kent end of TW). The Kent Sussex border ran (does it still?) by the St Johns church, Pantiles. Does this make me born in Kent or Sussex? Christchurch Primary School Vale Road Tunbridge Wells
I went to school here, 1958-1964 there exist photos of the school but so far none with the Frith Collection. The school was opposite Central Station in Vale Road and resembled a large shoebox with small extensions at either end with a forecourt (playground) before it and this behind a substantial brick wall and blue double gates for vehicular access and a side gate for ...see more

Ravenswood Avenue, Tunbridge Wells
I am researching the history of The Ravenswood Avenue estate (Ravenswood Avenue, Pinewood Road, Lipscombe Road, Fairfield Avenue and part of Hilbert Road between the top of King George V Hill and Hilbert Recreation Ground) including the people who lived there between when the estate was built in the 1930s and the 1960s. Road Accident In 1962
In May 1962, I was 5 years old and lived in Amhurst Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. I stepped out in front of an oncoming brick lorry on the zebra crossing at St Johns Church. I was taken to the Kent and Sussex hospital where my left foot was practically severed through. Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
