1970's Two Dales

A Memory of Two Dales.

Born and raised in Darley Dale, schooled at County primary on Greenaway Lane, where I met my best friend for life who lived on sydnope hill Two Dales, I fondly remember my Mum sending me on my pony to Mrs Wagstaff the local milkman Alan's mother to get a pint of milk, then to Hayes the Bakers for a loaf of bread, and to Mr Coates the butcher who would kindly give me some bones for my dog, there were trips to Mr Smith to cobbler and Mrs Dakin who ran the newsagents, as years passed the Plough also became a regular stop, I can't remember the landlady's name , but she would bring me pop and crisps out side as I held my pony.
