Upper Boat Hutments.

I also lived in the hutments in pantycelyn road from 1949 to 1963 and have wonderful memorys of my time there you could not get a better community

I lived at 21 Islwyn road during the war up to 1949. I have wonderful memories of the family's time there and my sister may be able to add more memories. I have one or two photos of our pre-fab and the garden. I remember Mr Dalimore the mobile grocer and Mr Bevan the milkman. The Grenfells lived next door round the corner.

We lived at Crws cresent No70 from 1946-1953 before moving to Harlow.. All I remember was there was an upper and lower estate. Ours was the upper one and I seem to remember it was an oval shape with the hill behind. If anyone can help with photos or memories I would be grateful.

Hi my maiden name is Marilyn Williams and I lived in Pantycelyn Road. My first hut was next to Mr and Mrs Tyson & daughter Judith. We had an old shelter in our garden and the garden led out onto the park, club and field. We moved across the road next to Evans family. I'm still in contact with Marilyn Neak who lived just a couple of doors away next to the Kelly's. We have been trying to get photos and memories together over the last few weeks. I remember a few names and a lot of memories between us are coming out I'm loving it. Top huts, bottom huts , white houses the canal, old line and of course Jacks field. Sugar sandwiches with a bottle of water and we were off my parents never new what I got up to, so much to do. The club our Rock and Roll nights with the then teddy boys, Rawlings shop, the saw mill and so much more. Would love to here from other upper boat people with their memories to.
