More about this scene
Visitors' cars are sensibly discouraged from entering the narrow lanes of Upper Swell, leaving this lovely village for the pedestrian to enjoy. St Mary's has an impressive Norman doorway and a 15th-century porch which, happily, the destructive Victorians left alone.
