A mile south of Nutfield, a new village grew up around the railway station on the Tonbridge line named South Nutfield.
There were two flourishing mills north and south of Nutfield, with this southern one still operating until recently, when it was featured in a film documentary.

Running between the church and Nutfield Road, this narrow cobbled alley, with red tile-hung Tudor buildings approached by red brick steps, was once the High Street of the village.
East of Redhill, on the A25, Nutfield is still heavy with traffic, despite the M25 by- passing it to the north.
